TEELINE 06.12.2019
Rännak koos tee- ja helisega
This week we’d like to provide as minimalist a tea experience as possible… candles, very deep jungle tea and some of the earliest sounds which may have ever harmonised with tea drinking: no, not the guqin or the flute, but the parmupill. The earliest recorded use of this ancient instrument actually appears in a Chinese painting from the 4th Century BCE. We like to think that the tea sages of old who sat around fires in the forests and valleys drinking the nectar of wild tea leaves also sometimes played this in between bowls.
Somehow, we know that they did.
So we’d like to recreate this ancient atmosphere through soundscapes and atmosphere - and together with a special invited guest, Vasell Marjumets, who shall accompany and lead this journey with his parmupill. In his words: "Parmupill on üks iidsemaid heliloomingu pille, mida on šamaanid aastasadu kasutanud erinevatel rännakutel atmosfääri häälestamiseks. Parmupilli heli vibratsioonid loovad meis avarust. Võimaldades meil kogeda kohalolemist."
We look forward to sharing this special space with you.
